Bio
Tyrone is a passionate lecturer and researcher specialising in cyberpsychology and the psychology of gaming at Nottingham Trent University. He actively contributes to research and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, focusing on research methods, addiction psychology, and mental health. As a module leader, he has developed and delivered engaging content for Research Methods in Cyberpsychology .
Tyrone’s research explores the user-avatar relationship in gaming, with a particular focus on how avatar customization can serve as a therapeutic tool for transgender and gender-diverse gamers to explore and affirm their identities. He employs quantitative research methods, leveraging survey data to provide insights into gaming addiction and user-avatar dynamics.
In addition to his academic work, Tyrone collaborates with institutions such as RMIT University and the University of Nottingham, contributing to the growing field of cyberpsychology. His teaching is informed by his dedication to supporting student learning and well-being, as well as his commitment to advancing understanding in the psychological impacts of gaming and online interactions.”
